Our 35th Listening Room features Moe Cooley and Tomoe, part of the ZU’s fall series made for paying close attention. Moe brings his guitar, his songs, and some strong opinions on Cash, Petty, and Willie. Tomoe brings the upright bass, holding down the low end and giving every song room to breathe. Put them together and you get a night worth hearing every note of.
For one night the stage becomes The Low End Lounge, a little Austin dive bar dropped into the ZU. Low lights, a smoky corner table, and a piano nobody’s allowed to touch. Pull up a chair like you’ve been coming here for years.
A Listening Room night is different from a regular night at the ZU. The room settles, phones go down, and the music gets the floor. The musicians feel that difference, and so does everyone in the seats.
Grab a glass of wine or a mocktail before the first song and settle in. Come early for a good seat.
You belong in the ZU.
