Every Wednesday at 8pm, we hand over the stage, a camera, and thirty minutes to whoever signed up. It goes live on YouTube. We don't edit it.

Public access television used to be like this. Anybody could get on the air, most of it was strange, and that was the best part of it. Cortez never had that. Now it does, sort of, on the internet, at a wine bar.

Music, a lecture, a demonstration, a rant, a puppet show, a cooking segment with no kitchen. We are not curating this.

One thing we ask: your show needs a name and a handmade sign. You hold it up at the top of your segment. That's your title card.

The bar is open while it happens. Attendance varies. Someone will be paying attention.

    I've read the rules. I'm bringing a sign. I understand this streams live on YouTube and stays up afterward, and I'm fine with that. Whatever I bring is mine to bring.

    The rules

    There are twelve

    1. Anyone in Montezuma County can sign up. One slot at a time. Sign up again after yours airs.
    2. Bring a sign with your show's name on it. Poster board, cardboard, a bedsheet, whatever. Big enough to read from across the room. Hold it up at the top of your segment. Handmade only, no printouts. Forgot? There's a dry erase board behind the bar.
    3. Open and close the same way every week. Hold up your sign and say "This is broadcast number [whatever], and this is [your show]." At the end, say "That was Channel 48. Same time next Wednesday." Your number is on the schedule below. That's the only script.
    4. Show up at 7:45. We start at 8:00 whether you're ready or not.
    5. One take, one camera, live. No editing, no delay. What happens is what airs.
    6. Thirty minutes is a ceiling, not a target. Ten is fine.
    7. It streams live on YouTube and stays up as a recording afterward. Signing up is your consent to both.
    8. Bring whatever you need. We provide a camera, a mic, and the stage.
    9. The bar is open and there are customers in the room. They may end up on camera and they may talk. That's the deal.
    10. Nothing illegal, nothing that gets us shut down, and don't go after a specific person or local business by name.
    11. Under 18 needs a parent or guardian in the room.
    12. The ZU can cut the stream at any time and remove the recording afterward. We'd rather not. Don't make us.
