The Patio Poets is a Southwest Colorado program that selects twelve rural poets each year, pays them for their work, and mails their poems as printed broadsides to subscribers across the country. Tonight three more of them take the patio.

M Waldron is a spoken word artist, slam poet, and performer based in Cortez. Her work is politically engaged, viscerally honest, and built for an audience.

Chance Hunter was born and raised in Cortez. Inspired by everything, and often accused of feeling too much. His poems are raw, personal, and rooted in this place.

Cristy Jenkins is a poet with a BA in English Literature and Language who received the Arizona State Poetry Award in 2009. Inspired by the Colorado landscape and high desert, her work is visceral and deeply rooted in nature.

Free and open to everyone. Bring a friend. Stay for a drink. The patio is open, and we move inside if the weather has other ideas.
